Bingo has long been a pastime enjoyed the world over but recently this changed due to gaming regulations introduced in the land of the free USA £ The justice department and central USA government imposed a gambling ban on all online gaming in the united states due to problems being associated with the games and the ease of betting.
In recent years the central government in America has been lobbied by various anti gambling groups to insist the rights of people and gamblers across the states are not been protected and due to a small law passed back in the 1960’s the Justice Department have decided , Internet gambling is illegal for Americans.
The courts have ruled that under the 1961 Wire Wager Act, which prohibits the use of phone lines for placing sports bets, Internet sports betting is illegal this has also prohibited the use of gaming sites offering Bingo as this is also interpreted as a sports bet therefore is regulated in the same manner.
In The United Kingdom we have our rights protected by the gaming commission and they regularly review and discuss gaming sites with our central government. We therefore are legally allowed to place bets in this manner.
Some believe the ruling in the USA will be overturned soon because it is just an interpretation of a rule that was set before the internet age..
